After meeting and parking the cars at Knighton station, we took a short but pleasant journey of 20 mins to Llangunllo halt which must be one of the most scenic lines in the country .
We set off in good weather into Llangunllo village then a steep climb going south onto Pitch Hill, then across open fields to Glog hill (strange name? ) from this point it gave us good views of the north side of the Radnor forest.
From Glog hill we lost all our height dropping down to the A488 then a short road trot to Monaughty where we picked up a track going north through Big wood gaining height all the time and arriving at Hendregenny for our lunch stop sitting on a grassy verge in glorious sunshine.
From here we dropped down to Cwm Blewyn then back uphill again to Rhos y meirch where we picked up the Offers Dyke path and an easy 2 miles returning to Knighton, but before reaching the station we had a welcome bevvy in the Horse & Jockey which went down well.
A good walk of about 11 miles and I think enjoyed by all 9 of us plus 2 dogs
